ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE PROGRAM STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the completion of the program, the HFCN Associate of Applied Science graduate is expected to achieve the following program outcomes:
  • Demonstrate effective therapeutic communication skills in interactions with patients, families and interprofessional team members in patient care settings.
  • Apply clinical decision-making skills and clinical judgment while applying the nursing process to provide safe, competent, and effective nursing care to patients experiencing alterations in physiological and psychological functioning.
  • Demonstrate nursing practice incorporating legal, ethical and professional standards to care for diverse, sociocultural patients experiencing alterations in physiological and psychological functioning.
  • Exhibit collaborative behaviors with patients, families and communities the college serves by providing health education for the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
  • Apply therapeutic interventions with patients experiencing alternations in physiological and psychological functioning using evidence-based practice and information technology.
  • Demonstrate nursing knowledge, skills and attitudes reflecting professionalism and commitment to lifelong learning when providing patient-centered care.
