Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Test
Once an applicant has completed and submitted their NursingCAS application, along with all required official transcripts, an admissions representative will review the application and supporting documentation to determine whether the applicant meets the minimum admissions criteria to schedule the TEAS examination. The TEAS exam must be taken on-site at Helene Fuld College.
A nonrefundable fee of $120 is required for the TEAS exam. Only applicants who have received approval to test should schedule their exam through the college.
The TEAS test consists of the following topics:
- Reading Comprehension and Mathematics Test (reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, decimals, fractions, problem solving, and basic arithmetical processes)
- Science and English Grammar Test (human anatomy & physiology body science, life science, earth science, physical science, scientific reasoning, grammar, spelling, punctuation and structure, word meaning in context)

What is the TEAS?
The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is a standardized test designed specifically to assess a student’s preparedness for entering the health science fields. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform successfully in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage.

What does the TEAS exam consist of?
The ATI TEAS test is comprised of 170 questions that are formatted as both multiple choice items with 4 answer options and alternate-type items. This includes 150 scored questions and 20 unscored pretest questions. Students have 209 minutes to complete the exam.
